Brazilian Butt Lift in Tampa, FL
Buttock augmentation, more commonly known as a “Brazilian butt lift” when fat transfer is involved, uses butt implants, fat grafting or sometimes a combination of both to increase the size, shape and volume of a patient’s behind. Dr. Mang is a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced and knowledgeable in this and many other plastic surgery procedures. He operates at his state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery center to make sure his patients feel safe and comfortable.
Buttock augmentation surgery is right for someone who does not like the shape or size of their butt, or is looking to balance their curves. Recently, this procedure has become increasingly popular worldwide, with shapely buttocks often seen as a symbol of femininity and sensuality.
What Happens During A Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian butt lift or butt augmentation can be done in several ways:
#1 Fat Transfer
A butt augmentation becomes a Brazilian butt lift when the procedure is done through the utilization of the body’s stored fat and the transferring of that fat to the butt. Fat transplantation accomplishes a more natural-appearing result than using an implant and also has less risk of infection. An added benefit of fat transfer is that the areas around the buttocks can be reshaped, improving the finished outcome. The lower back and hips can be sculpted to enhance and further augment buttock fullness when required. There are three steps to a Brazilian butt lift:
Step 1 – Liposuction
Dr. Mang will perform liposuction on an area other than the butt, removing fat then purifying it and prepping it to be injected into the butt. He uses a cannula placed in a small incision. Using a controlled back and forth motion, he removes and stores the excess fat.
Step 2 – Fat Injection
After Dr. Mang removes the fat, tissue and blood from the liposuction procedure, those materials are then processed and purified. He will use a specific cannula to add the fat to the buttocks through small injections all over your behind, in an even and natural manner.
Step 3 – PRP Injections
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections are used by Dr. Mang after the new fat is inserted. Platelet activation plays a key role in the process of wound and soft tissue healing. Not all surgeons will complete a Brazilian butt lift by adding PRP injections; however, Dr. Mang feels strongly that this addition is imperative to yield the best results and aid in recovery.
#2 Butt Implant
A butt implant is an alternative surgery option to a Brazilian butt lift. Using an implant (much like a breast implant) Dr. Mang makes an incision and inserts the implant size of your choice into each buttock. Both men and women can benefit from butt implants.
What is the Cost of A Brazilian Butt Lift?
Dr. Mang is conscious of his patients’ budgets and keeps his prices competitive. Plastic surgery procedures can range depending on the needs and goals of each patient, therefore, it is important to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mang to discuss pricing. At Mang Plastic Surgery, we believe that a cosmetic procedure is an investment in your self-confidence, which will be beneficial for years to come. Sometimes that may be costly, and that is why we offer financing through CareCredit®.

Review With Dr. Mang
- Stop smoking. It is important to discontinue the use of cigarettes and other nicotine products as they constrict blood vessels and slow the healing and recovery process.
- Avoid alcohol. This is not long term, but alcohol use should be discontinued for at least two weeks before surgery and two weeks after surgery.
- Vitamins and other OTC drugs. Discontinue the use of these for at least two weeks before surgery.
- Pain medication. Dr. Mang may prescribe you pain medication to alleviate any discomfort. It is important to fill these prior to surgery and bring them to the procedure.
- Drink water. Water is a very helpful tool both before and after surgery. It is important to drink plenty of water before surgery and after. Water helps flush out toxins.
- Aspirin and Ibuprofen. Discontinue the use of both of these for at least two weeks before and after surgery. These products thin you blood and can interfere with your body’s ability to heal.
- Getting home. After surgery driving is prohibited. Arrange for transportation home.

It is important not to sit for prolonged periods of time, and to sleep on your stomach in order to not place added pressure on the buttocks. Dr. Mang will instruct you to wear a support garment after a butt augmentation for a recommended amount of time.
Results: Each patient heals and scars differently. It is vital to keep in mind that the results of this procedure vary from patient to patient. However, most patients will enjoy their final result within three to six months.
