Kybella® in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA

Kybella® in Tampa, FLExcess fat under the chin, or a double chin, can be resistant to diet and exercise. There is now a great non-surgical option that is offered at Mang Plastic Surgery called Kybella®. Patients in Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as Atlanta, Alpharetta, and the neighboring communities in Georgia, can choose Kybella® for the destruction of fat cells under the chin. Dr. Mang is a board-certified plastic surgeon and he is greatly admired by his many patients for his compassionate care and outstanding natural-looking results.

Patients who are unhappy with the fullness under their chin should know that this is a common problem and Dr. Mang offers a solution. A double chin can cause a person to look older and/or heavier than they actually are. Kybella® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of a double chin.

What Is Kybella®?

Kybella® is an injection where a thin, fine-gauge syringe injects the treatment into the subcutaneous fat (the fat under a patient’s chin). It causes the destruction of the stubborn (and often genetic) fat cells that live under the chin. Once destroyed through the use of Kybella®, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. Treatment with Kybella® is customized by Dr. Mang to ensure your vision of a chin profile is achieved.

Who Should Get Kybella®?

Both men and women can suffer from a double chin. Extra fat under the chin can lead to unhappiness in one’s appearance when they look in the mirror. Kybella® will dramatically improve and often eliminate excess fat and fullness under the chin. Good candidates for this treatment are men and women who are at a healthy weight, eat right and exercise, but still cannot do away with the fullness under their chin.

How Should I Prepare For Kybella®?

When scheduling your Kybella® consultation with Dr. Mang, please let him know if you have received any other injections over the prior two to four months. Patients should be prepared to provide their medical history and a list of current medications at their consultation. Also, be sure to mention if you have any blood pressure issues, allergies, blood clotting problems, problems with scarring, or if you smoke.

How is Kybella® Administered?

Kybella® is administered by injection using a very thin, fine-gauge syringe, and should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The number of injections required for each treatment depends on each individual patient. In most cases, a treatment session is given at least one month apart, and you should not receive more than six treatments. After this, no additional treatments should be required. However, it is important to continue with a normal diet and exercise routine.
