ThermiVa® in Tampa, FL

As a woman, aging can be hard on your body. You lose collagen all throughout your body, and your skin begins to lose the tightness and elasticity that it once had. At Mang Plastic Surgery, we offer ThermiVa® to our female patients who want to rejuvenate their vaginal tissues. We offer services to residents living in Tampa, Saint Petersburg, and surrounding areas.

What is ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is a non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently heat internal and external vaginal tissues to stimulate and regenerate your body’s own collagen. This treatment is designed for dermatological and surgical use for electrocoagulation and hemostasis.

This treatment is useful for women who have undergone collagen loss since ThermiVa® increases collagen production. Collagen is an important protein in the body that makes the skin elastic and keep a firm consistency.

How is ThermiVa® Performed?

ThermiVa® is administered using a handpiece that transmits radiofrequency energy. This handpiece is used in and around the vaginal area to produce collagen stimulation and rejuvenate vaginal tissue. The design of the handpiece was made with comfort in mind. This procedure should not provide any discomfort to women.

The handpiece consists of a handle and a tip. The square end of the electrode tip is made of metal and is an active tip. This is the area of the handpiece that will heat the tissue with radiofrequency. A full treatment cycle of ThermiVa® consists of three visits, and results can last up to 12 months.

What are the Benefits of ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is a non-invasive procedure that is performed in the office without any general anesthesia. There are no ablations or surgical incisions and no downtime required. Additionally, the treatment is delivered according to your comfort level, and the heat used will be set to your tolerance. This treatment delivers long-lasting results.

Who are Good Candidates for ThermiVa®?

Young and middle-aged women are the best candidates for this procedure. It is intended to be used in dermatological and surgical procedures. Women who are pregnant are not eligible for this procedure. Additionally, women who have a skin infection in or near their vaginal tissues should not receive an application of ThermiVa®.

What is the Recovery Time for ThermiVa®?

There is no downtime for ThermiVa®. This comfortable and quick procedure does not leave behind any scarring or ablations. Women may experience redness after the procedure, but this will fade quickly.
